Gear Update - Nick G.

Amicus requires a bass guitar tone that not only fills out the bottom end of the mix, but also punches through with enough clarity to make the bass guitar stand out as needed. My bass guitar is a Spector Euro 4LX with an EMG J in the bridge and an EMG P in the neck. We tune to drop Bb/A#, and I use Ernie Ball Custom Gauge Roundwound strings 50-70-90-125. No picks allowed.

My signal path is Shure GLX-D wireless, Korg DTR-1000 Rack Tuner, MXR M87 Bass Compressor, Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor, Boss CEB-3 Bass Chorus, Tech 21 SansAmp Bass Driver. The effects remain on all the time.

The amp head that I am using is a Hartke LH1000 along with one Hartke HyDrive HX410 and a Hartke HyDrive HX115. This setup has more than enough power and clarity to fulfill any show requirement. When a venue decides to not mic the cabinets, I still push some volume so that I can feel the rumble behind me.

Rock, Nick G.
